I messed up my /etc/hosts and /etc/resolv.conf files, now Jul 24, 2020 WSL2: resolv.conf being reset despite generateResolvConf That worked, except now even after replacing resolv.conf it seems I'm not getting any name resolution whatsoever. I tried "nameserver 8.8.8.8" and "nameserver 1.1.1.1" and neither work. resolv.conf is owned by root:root and has permissions 644.
