I've had Cox Internet for a couple of weeks. The speed is fine when I am connected. However, the connection comes and goes all day, every day. I mean the wifi. I have dual band, and this happens with both 2.4 and 5 GHz. I have a brand-new NETGEAR AC1600 (16x4) WiFi Cable Modem Router (C6250). I randomly drop connection or get speeds around 1-5 mb/s for anywhere from 15 mins - a few hours. Seems like theres nothing that leads up to it, happens at peak and non peak times. What I've had done to try to fix it: I have been through 2 different modems, and 2 different routers. i have tried being directly connected to the modem with my Sometimes, these additional factors can make WiFi slow or unstable. Keep in mind that wired connections are faster, more secure, more dependable and should be used whenever possible. WEP or WPA), but it drops every couple of seconds when you use WPA mode, try updating the network card driver’s firmware. We had a similar experience on a Dell Inspiron laptop.
